How far in advance should I book my move?

We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance for local moves and 3-4 weeks for long-distance moves. However, we understand that sometimes moves happen suddenly, and we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when possible.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, Optimus Move is fully licensed and insured. We carry comprehensive general liability insurance and cargo insurance to protect your belongings during the move. We're happy to provide proof of insurance upon request.

What items won't you move?

For safety and legal reasons, we cannot transport hazardous materials, perishable items, plants, animals, or extremely valuable items like cash, jewelry, or important documents. We recommend transporting these items yourself.

How do you calculate the cost of a move?

For local moves, we primarily charge by the hour based on the size of the crew needed. For long-distance moves, we calculate costs based on distance and the volume of items being moved. Additional factors may include specialty items, stairs, long carries, and packing services.

Do I need to be present during the move?

We recommend being present at both the pickup and delivery locations to provide direction and sign off on the completion of the move. If you cannot be present, please arrange for someone you trust to be there on your behalf.
